K.C. College of HSNC University kick starts ‘Kiran’ –Mumbai’s favourite intercollege annual fest

Mumbai’s one of the most prominent college, K.C. College gears up for the annual festival Kiran. The fest runs for 3 days beginning from 14 th January, 2021. Due to the pandemic, the entire event will be hosted virtually in presence of other top colleges of Mumbai and 10 outstation colleges.

This year, events at Kiran will be throwing light on the major theme ‘Dataism and its volatile Dynamism’. After the keynote address of the grand festival by the chief guest Dr. Hemlata Bagla alongside Dr. Niranjan Hiranandani, Mr. Kishu Mansukhani and Mr. Dinesh Panjwani; day 1 will cherish the attendees with events from different departments like Drama, Literary Arts and so on. Day 2 begins at 8:00 a.m. with an event from the sports department ‘Futsal’. The closing day i.e. 16 th January, 2021 has multiple surprises for the viewers, including the announcement of the notable Mr. & Ms. Kiran ‘21!

Considering the current circumstances, the biggest lesson for the organizing committee has been coordinating efforts without being in proximity to each other in the team. That said, per their seamless adaptation of the exciting annual ritual, Every year students manage to paint an eternal present through Kiran and this year will be just as significant, if not more.” Additionally, what makes Kiran 2021 stand out is the crossover events which will be done in collaborations between departments making multidisciplinary events more accessible to the college audience such as ‘Plot Twist’, ‘Art me halfway’, etc.

Dr. Hemlata Bagla, Principal of K.C. College, on the account of the prestigious event mentioned, “I am elated that our students, even during these tough times have made the Kiran festival a grand success while adapting to the times and showcasing the spirit virtually this year. Having the biggest learning of adapting digital medium through such unprecedented times, Kiran will be accessible to a larger crowd than ever. It is expected to witness around 19,000 heads to the gala meet,” continues Dr. Bagla.
